Hey, there.

I'm Natalie Slone Everton.

I'm a writer exploring what it means to live and lead from grace rather than pressure.

For as long as I can remember, I've loved stories. As a kid, I dreamed of writing books. As an adult, I spent years pursuing excellence, building a career, and trying to become the kind of person who could carry everything well.

From the outside, much of my life looked successful, but underneath, I was quietly learning how easy it is to confuse productivity with worth, responsibility with identity, and striving with faithfulness.

Eventually, the strategies that helped me move forward stopped working.

I wasn't just tired - I had become completely disconnected from myself. I didn't know who I was apart from producing, solving problems, or holding everything together. I tried harder. I became more disciplined.

None of it brought the peace I was looking for.

That started to change when I asked myself a different question: "How can I work with myself instead of constantly fighting myself?"

The answer drew me toward a different way of living: one marked by grace instead of relentless pressure. As I learned to slow down, rebuild trust in myself, and experience God as a companion rather than a taskmaster, something began to change.

Grace Over Grind grew out of that journey.

It isn't a formula or a five-step plan. It's an ongoing exploration of ambition, identity, leadership, burnout, faith, and the lifelong process of becoming who God created us to be without sacrificing ourselves along the way.

Today, I write about these ideas through essays and reflections. My hope is to create words that help thoughtful, ambitions people feel a little less alone and a little more free to live from wholeness instead of striving.

When I'm not writing, you'll probably find me spending time with my husband, experimenting in the kitchen, ballroom dancing, or dreaming about my next travel adventure.

I'm so glad you're here.
